Our rooms are available from 16:00 on the day of your arrival.

On your departure day, we ask that you vacate your room by 10:30 so that it can be prepared in time for incoming guests.

We are one of the few guest houses in the centre of Alnwick that can offer private parking. You will find our car park immediately at the rear of the house off the alley that runs back from the left hand side of the house. It can comfortably accommodate 5 vehicles.

Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you.

There is an entrance to the house with a doorbell directly from the car park which saves you from having to go back round to the front.

We have a reception area where you can hang coats and hats as well as racks on which you can leave muddy boots if you have been out walking. We ask that guests wear indoor shoes or slippers when in the house and we can supply a pair of disposable slippers if needed.

We have a small guest lounge situated along the corridor to the car park which you are welcome to use at any time. There is a selection of local information, maps and magazines plus a television with Freeview and CD/DVD player. The lounge has two armchairs and a coffee table. Additional seating can be moved into there from the dining room but space is limited. Board games are available on request. Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the house.

We have a collection of DVDs and are happy to lend you one; we do not charge for this but we do hope that you might make a donation to one of our two collection boxes (RNLI or Great North Air Ambulance) which you will find in the guest lounge.

If you bring back a take-away meal in the evening we ask that you use our dining room situated on the ground floor rather than your bedroom. Plates, cutlery and condiments will be provided on request.

We do not permit smoking anywhere in the house but you may smoke in our car park. Please use the ash tray which can be found near the bottom of the steps.

Mobile phone reception in Alnwick is generally fine although reception for Orange users is inconsistent within our house.

Oronsay House was built in 1880 and exhibits many period features. Whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests, there are some period features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility or those with young children. Public areas are spread over three floors and there are steps up into the house at each entrance. The rooms in the top floor have restricted head height in places. Unfortunately none of the rooms are accessible for wheelchair users.
